Joanne Stralla, Sparks resident and TMWA customer, was chosen in December 2008 as TMWA's new Ombudsman.

The Ombudsman position, a part time contract position, was created by the TMWA Board of Directors in 2005 as an additional avenue of assistance for customers who desire an extra level of help in working through customer service processes or in the event that all normal customer service options are unable to provide satisfactory resolutions.

"I have a very strong background in customer service, having worked for over twenty five years dealing with customers and their issues," Joanne said.  "I look forward to returning to a role in customer service.  I am confident that I can resolve customer issues in a productive and professional manner."

Prior to becoming an independent contractor and consultant, Joanne worked for Sierra Pacific Power Company for 18 years, where she held various positions in customer service. Her utility experience includes gas, electric and water. In the role of Ombudsman, Joanne will report directly to the Chairman of the TMWA Board of Directors.
